Welcome to the Cleverpawz website. My name is Lucy Parkin and I am crazy about dogs.
I am a fully qualified and insured Dog Trainer and Behaviourist in North East England with over 30 years experience. I compete at Championship level both at Kennel Club and UK Agility.
I hold a Ba (Hons) in Education and train assistance dogs for a well known charity. My remaining time is devoted to looking after dog’s and their owners needs and training and having fun with my own dogs.
All my training methods are based on rewards and positive reinforcement and no punishment is ever advocated.
I am totally committed to adding to my understanding of dogs, and love to observe what makes them tick, regularly attending seminars to keep up to date with the new training methods emerging. My qualifications allow me to take a unique slant on my training both educating the owner and training the dog simultaneously.
I am also fully insured with profession indemnity and have trained as a first aider for both human and canine. I am an accredited Kennel Club Dog trainer and Agility judge.
During this difficult time I have produced a series of FREE easy agility exercises for you to do whilst in isolation at home. There was a new episode published each week during lockdown so please take a look and like and subscribe so you will get regular updates whenever I publish a new video.
Me & my dog Joe joined Cleverpawz over a year ago and we absolutely love training! Lucy is a fab trainer, extremely patient and very knowledgeable. Lucy takes us through jumps and courses, nurturing us as we go, we’re not the best but Lucy can make us feel as if we could win crufts!! I don’t think we would of stuck with agility if it wasn’t for Lucy, the support and encouragement is fantastic and we have learnt a lot. It’s a real pleasure to attend the classes, the highlight of our week!! Trisha H.
Lucy not only concentrates on dog training but more logically, also includes training the owners Every one of our canine companions, like ourselves, is different to the next and training is directed towards their own individual characteristics. Lucy devotes so much time and patience in her work as can be seen in her own dogs’ behaviours. She gives very friendly impartial advice and is always keen to help. Elizabeth B.
